August 10th, 2010 – Push The Walls with Brock!
2009′s YTV Next Star runner up Brock Zanrosso released his very first music video for his Hipjoint written and produced track Push The Walls! The video was directed by Colin Carter, DOP Pasha Patriki for Statik Motion Pictures. Request and watch for it on Much Music. Congratulations Brock!
August 10th, 2010 – Stef Lang Passes 10,000 Singles Sold!!
Stef Lang’s debut single Mr. Immature from her album The Underdog, continues to be one of the most heard songs in Canada which is driving a steady stream of sales that is about to pass the 10,000 singles mark! With a fall tour booked and a second single about to be serviced, Stef’s upward trajectory should continue through the fall and on toward Christmas. Stef also recently shot the video for Mr. Immature with director Craig Nisperos while she was on a writing trip in New York!

Stef Lang’s first single continues to grow in Canada as we now set our sights on Top 10! Mr. Immature is currently #18 CHR and #15 Hot AC and still growing according to the latest BDS numbers! Stef has made huge inroads in the last month, spending time promoting herself all over Canada and the US. Look out!
July 20th, 2010 – Mike and Troy Break the Camera
Hipjoint’s fearless leaders made their TV debut last week as guest writers/producers on YTV’s young talent search show,
“The Next Star”. Their job was to mentor a young artist through the writing and recording process. All went well and soon kids across Canada will idolize Mike, Troy and all things Hipjoint! On a side note their own kids are preparing to be beaten up regularly at school. There’s talk of a “Dumb & Dumber” remake-we’ll let you know… Check out Episode 6!

June 25, 2010 – Delerium & Hipjoint Together Again!
Hot on the heels of the Billboard #1 Hit Dust In Gravity comes word from Nettwerk that production of our second Delerium collaboration, currently titled Too Late (Farewell), has been completed. This time around the vocals have been taken care of by the wonderful Butterfly Boucher. The track will appear on Delerium’s Voice album due out in September.
June 21, 2010 – Bounce Showdown Take 6!
Edmonton’s 91.7 FM The Bounce hosted their annual Bounce Showdown talent search this past weekend with Troy, Mike & celebrity judge (and original Bounce Showdown champ) Kreesha Turner, presiding over the mayhem! When all was said and done the 2010 winner is 23-year-old Beatrice Gouchey, whose gravely, soulful voice, heavily tattooed image, and pop-star good looks easily distanced her from the rest of the pack. She’ll be rockin’ the Hipjoint house very soon!
June 15, 2010 – The Dating Guy is “Mr. Immature”?
Teletoon‘s new adult themed animated show The Dating Guy will debut this fall with Stef Lang’s Mr. Immature (717 Remix) as part of the show. The Lil Henriques remix of Stef’s current Top 40 smash hit all the right spots with the show’s producers who found a space for it in as soon as they heard it!
June 10, 2010 – Microsoft finds “Dust” in Apollo!
Microsoft submitted a request for usage of Delerium’s Dust In Gravity in a new interactive dance game with the working title Apollo that uses the XBOX 360 Project NATAL motion sensing device to replicate a dance club experience. We have no idea what that means but we’re pretty sure it’s gonna be hella cool!!
May 30th, 2010 – Hipjoint Grabs Billboard #1!!
Delerium’s Dust In Gravity, co-written by Hipjoint’s Troy Samson, Mike James and Stef Lang (Troy and Mike also produced Kreesha Turner’s vocals on the track) has reached the top of the mountain! The track rose to #1 on the US Billboard Dance/Club Play Chart this week. Thanks to everyone involved in making this great record!!

Just received word that Derriere (Are You Ready?), by Hipjoint ft. Lil Raven has secured a spot in the upcoming Degrassi made-for-TV movie Degrassi NYC airing this summer.

Listen for Quanteisha’s Hipjoint written and produced track Someday in the Nickelodeon show Gigantic (replacing Beyonce’s “Halo” no less). Way to go Quanteisha!

May 19, 2010 – Brock Zanrosso on the “Edge”
We’ve just put the finishing touches on Brock Zanrosso’s new song Edge (End Of the World) and it sounds great! This follows up our work on Brock’s first single Push The Walls which is starting to pick up steam at radio. Edge (End Of The World) will up at the iTunes Store June 1st! For all those Brock Zanrosso fans (and there’s a lot!) word is not only is Brock in the process of shooting a video for Edge (End of The World) but will be shooting an official video for Push The Walls some time in July!

May 9, 2010 – Bounce With The Heart & Stroke Foundation!
Hipjoint has approved usage of Bounce With Me by Kreesha Turner in the Heart And Stroke Foundation’s 2010 fashion show video featuring 19 models walking the runway in red dresses at The Heart Truth Fashion Show 2010. The Heart Truth campaign raises awareness of women’s heart health. The fashion show is part of this national campaign to help ‘share the truth’.
May 9, 2010 – Operator in MTV’s The City
They moved from The Hills to The City, and they took Hipjoint with them! Listen for Shiloh’s Operator (A Girl Like Me) in an upcoming episode of the MTV hit series.
May 6, 2010 – Make That 2 Horses Running For Stef Lang!!
Stef’s placement of her song Straitjacket in last week’s Degrassi episode has caused a flood of interest in the track as the Youtube views steadily grow. We’re also seeing a direct sales bump for this track in the US as a result of the airing. All of a sudden Stef has TWO hot tracks and is gaining fans quickly!

We received a request this week from the Austin based marketing firm DMX to approve usage of Justin’s Some Kind of Beautiful for play in-store at all Abercrombie and Fitch locations (1,200 strong!) as well as other A&F owned stores worldwide. Apparently the higher ups at A&F hand picked the track themselves!

Justin Blais is Hipjoint written and produced song Some Kind of Beautiful is growing strongly across the French-speaking province. Justin’s French-Canadian heritage and that fact that he is doing all visits and interviews completely in French is greatly helping his ascent in Canada’s most music-hungry province.
