20-year-old bilingual pop singer Justin Blais surprised himself when he won Edmonton’s premier talent contest, the Bounce Showdown, in 2009 (sponsored by Chum radio’s 91.7 The Bounce).  His goal was Top 10!

This unexpected win gave Justin the opportunity to record with Hipjoint’s production team who have written and produced hits for past Bounce Showdown champions Kreesha Turner (EMI), Shiloh (Universal) and 2008 Showdown winner Quanteisha (2011 Juno Winner).

Currently Justin is promoting his releases by traveling the country and playing live wherever he can. His fan base is steadily growing and his double singles Some Kind of Beautiful/One Night and You and Me/7 Days are steady sellers for the Hipjoint Music/Universal label. Blais was named the CHUM Emerging Artist for October 2009 and Some Kind Of Beautiful received airplay on the company’s stations, as well as some of its competitors, across Canada.
