STEF LANG

An extremely prolific writer and performer, Stef Lang works closely with many diverse and talented musicians in the vibrant Vancouver songwriting scene. This includes being a co-writer of Delerium’s US Billboard #1 Dust In Gravity. She is also a participant in the respected weekly songwriting circle known as Hipjoint Throwdown, of which she has become a core member.

Stef signed a publishing deal with H-Songs/Nettwerk One Music in 2009 and was the opening performance at the 2009′s Canadian Music Café during The Toronto International Film Festival, which in past years has seen performances by a who’s who of Canadian songwriting talent including K’naan, City and Colour, Ron Sexsmith, and Martha Wainwright. In 2010 Stef recorded her debut album The Underdog at Hipjoint Studios. The album includes co-writes with Hawksley Workman, Rob Wells and Hipjoint‘s Mike James, Troy Samson and Phil Lehmann.

THE UNDERDOG (2010)

Stef’s lead single, Mr. Immature, from her full-length debut The Underdog was released on the Hipjoint/Universal label May 4th 2010 and became a nationwide hit. In 2011 the song was nominated for two Canadian Radio Music Awards. Stef was invited to perform the song at the CRM Awards lunchoen during Canadian Music Week in Toronto and also also played a showcase set at the festival.
